When you take on a creative career, you set out on a journey. It’s a field with as many possibilities as there are individuals. You truly choose your own adventure. The big question is: How far will you go?
Recently, Miami Ad School sent a note out to our art direction grads asking one simple question:
“What do you love most about being an art director?”
Miami Ad School @ Portfolio Center grad—and Twitter’s Global Group Creative Director—Jayanta Jenkins could have just dashed off a quick note, hit send and been done with it. But, in classic Jayanta style, he went all out. He sent in this video and you’ve really got to see it.
Jayanta recounts his progress from The Martin Agency—his first job right out of school —to Wieden+Kennedy (to work on Nike) and TBWA\Chiat\Day LA (to be Global Creative Director for Gatorade), his time at Apple and Beats by Dre and to his current worldwide posting at Twitter.
His personal story is remarkable—his career is epic and still in progress—but each Miami Ad School grad can see themselves in his story. The things they’ve done, the places they’ve been, the people they’ve worked with during their careers and the doors Miami Ad School, and the connections they made there, opened for them.
